In 1990, 10 000 tonnes of sludge from wastewater treatment processes of production reached Acne the dump in Pianura, in Campania. The materials used in the production process were naphthalene, benzene, caustic soda, sulfuric acid and ammonia. This is confirmed by some documents held by the documentation center "Patrick Fadden, in Monesiglio, created and managed by Valbormida alive. The waste ended up in Campania are therefore more than implied by the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into the waste cycle some hearings in 1997 and 2000, in which he spoke of 1,000 tons. They are also cited less than the 800 000 tonnes by the Piedmont Region earlier this year.
A document dated November 27, 1989, describes the amount and type of waste to be transported in Campania. It was, technically, a "special waste" (described as "solidofangosi, dark brown, with slight odor of fermenting material.") According to the document were provided daily injections. So, at that time, every day a truck was leaving in the Naples Cengio direct load of drums containing hazardous waste. The note accompanying the April 20, 1990 which is reproduced above speaks of a cargo net of 27.220 tons of "primary and secondary sludge inert." Eloquent, the purpose of transport: final disposal. One of the many one-way journey from factory to landfill Cengio become "famous" in recent months with the waste emergency in Campania.
The note accompanying a truck on April 24 by adult 1990partì Pianuracon to reach the dump a load of 27,220 kilograms of hazardous waste.
A complete picture of where they went to finish in 1989 Acna waste emerges from a table attached to a document of the council of the Greens in the Liguria Region, dated March 25, 1991. The total quantity of waste disposed of in 1989 was 66,860 tonnes by adult. The Most (65,797 tons) is represented by special waste, or industrial gypsum, sewage sludge, iron oxides, carbon residue and oils. There are also 1,021 tons of waste similar to municipal waste and 42 toxic and hazardous waste. The latter ended up in the incinerator of the French Solamat to Rognac, near Marseille. Those were similar to municipal waste transported to landfills Vagienna Well, Vergiate (Varese), Septic (Venice) and Vighizzolo Montichiari (Brescia). Special waste were disposed of in landfills instead Cividale del Friuli (Udine), Verretto (Pavia), Torrazza Piemonte (Turin) and Giuliano (Napoli), or in treatment facilities Broni (Pavia), Orbassano (Turin) and Robilante in Cuneo.
The issue of waste disposal Acna in Italy and abroad (in 1987 it was found in the port of Sulima, Romania) was already raised in the early 90's by Renzo Fountain Valley Bormida on periodic clean. On the Documentation Centre of Monesiglio is a copy of a letter sent in 1993 by the late journalist Gorzegno the drafting of the Free Zone program, in which he speaks of the period 1988-89, when the Acna, wrote Fontana, brought 53 000 tonnes of waste in Pavia, 33 000 to 20 000 over Torrazza Piedmont and Naples. In 1991 and in 1992 Fountain reported the case also in the program of Michele Santoro Samarkand, but had no answer. Corrado

Thanks to "Valbormida alive"

A must thank to the President of the association of living Valbormida Saliceto Ilvo Barbiero, and Director of the Documentation Centre on the case Acna, Marcellin Bertola, which allowed us to see the documents cited in the article.
