time ago I attended a course on effective communication and it was important to improve in many areas of my life: family, work, friendships ...
Just a few months ago I went to a job interview, more of curiosity than necessity, and as more and more often you do it, I had to interact with a group of people there like me, "aspiring" new hires. In this test we had put ourselves in members of a team in a business simulation to find a solution to a problem of resource management. I can assure you that the concepts learned in that course have made a difference for me and my result.
As soon as I started I became aware of the mistakes that other students were committing the simulation, each of them talked about trying to impose their idea, no one listened to others, some were rude and arrogant, others remained in silence with a confused expression ... I knew immediately that thanks to this I could emerge. I just logged into the debate and the first thing, I applied the cardinal principle in the statement: LISTEN! Of course, not casually, but really interested in other people's ideas. Although some proposals were impractical or trivial, I tried to find something useful and positive, or just tried to propose an alternative solution that might in fact be as close as possible to the previous proposal. Not categorically rejected the ideas of others, I tried to analyze with their positive and negative sides of it. I always made sure to be proactive and immediately the situation around me began to change.
I realized that in a few moments with the skills I had learned and used over the past month practicing with the people around me, I was quickly coming into line with many of my "fake colleagues" so I started driving the situation by thinking about each of their proposals were valiate. It 'been enlightening! Before long I was the leader of the group. I felt that those people perceived me as a Leader! I was treated like a leader! They asked for my opinion, if you were talking directly addressed to me at the end of any proposed all looked me as if I were to express an opinion. That day I realized once again how important it was to invest in my education, my communication about my skills, my strength. Investing on me. I had the practical response to what was a great communicator can enrich a professional (guess who eventually offered the job?) And staff.
These results make me understand how you can get, because you can be sure self, how many doors can open to a person who has the courage and wisdom to get into the game and choose to improve. Unfortunately, training in Italy is not yet widespread and known.
I have often been made to compliment my skills and just as often, when I explain that these are simple principles to follow, many say, "Yeah, but you've taken" "If I had the qualities of Dude .. " "If I were as smart as Dick" ... Well gentlemen, I chose to be in life is that Tom Dick and Harry at times also .. Always remember that in life we \u200b\u200bmust also have the ability to make a good impression!
